The first five chapters of the book deal with the historical background of Asatru, and while I find this interesting, I'm not sure it was necessar|About the Author|Diana L. Paxson is a noted fantasy author who collaborated with Bradley on many of her later works, including Priestess of Avalon. She has written twenty books, including the Arthurian series, The Hallowed Isle.

Diana L. Paxson provides a clear and concise history of Asatru - a living religion that encompasses the magical practice of the Norse and Germanic peoples - and also provides thorough instruction on how to practice it and make it a part of everyday life.
